Ross - Yoga & Pilates Instructor

Meet Ross

Hi, I’m Ross — a yoga and Pilates teacher passionate about helping people feel better in their bodies and minds.

My aim is simple: to improve wellbeing through accessible, inclusive yoga and Pilates. I teach group classes, one-to-one sessions, and classes for children, creating supportive spaces where people can move, breathe, and reconnect — without pressure or judgement. Yoga and Pilates are for everyone. Age, gender, race, body shape, flexibility, or experience level don’t matter here. My teaching blends movement, breathwork, and meditation, drawing on traditional practices while adapting them to modern life and individual needs.

How I Teach

I run independent classes, offer private sessions, and teach in local gyms including Welcome Gym, Better Gym, Nuffield, and Everyone Active. I also work with ocal organisations, and corporate clients.

A few times a year, I host masterclasses, retreats, and workshops across Surrey and Sussex, offering deeper dives into specific themes and practices.

Training & Qualifications

I trained with the British Wheel of Yoga, choosing a rigorous and well-rounded route that allows me to teach a wide range of people safely and confidently. I hold a BWYQ Level 4 Diploma (500 hours), with comprehensive training in anatomy and physiology, and experience teaching general classes, Gentle Years yoga, and yoga for children.

For Pilates, I trained with HFE and hold a YMCA Level 3 Mat Pilates qualification, specialised for Pilates for Small Equipment and Chair Pilates.

My Story

Before becoming a teacher, I spent many years working in high-pressure financial and insurance services. Yoga became a vital support during that time — and eventually, a new path.

Today, I teach people from all walks of life, including those with differing abilities, health conditions, and during life transitions. In October 2022, I ran my first Menopause Masterclass, combining a women’s circle, menopause-specific yoga practice, practical resources, and a recorded session for participants to keep.

When I’m not teaching, you’ll usually find me creating — through photography, painting, glasswork, or even making homemade blackberry jam and marmalade.
